Birch forest

The meadows and far-sheeted streams
Lie still without a sound;
Like some soft minister of dreams
The snow-fall hoods me round;
In wood and water, earth and air,
A silence everywhere.
                                                      from "Snow" by Archibald Lampman

I love this Rubbernecker stamp called "Birch Forest" ...it makes me feel calm, quiet and peaceful.   I love that it can be used for just about any occasion from sympathy to Christmas.

I heat embossed this version in white then added some Sparkle N Sprinkle Twinkling Clouds to the ground...just a bit for some texture and subtle sparkle.

Have a super weekend.
Thanks so much for spending some of your precious time with me...I appreciate each and every one of you.

Supplies:
Stamps - Rubbernecker Birch Forest
Ink - Versamark
Paper - PTI Kraft
Other - Sparkle N Sprinkle White Detail EP, Twinkling Clouds

Flying by....

Flying by with a Halloween card.  We don't "do" alot of Halloween but I still like to send cards to the grands.  Something fun but not too scary.  Our granddaughter is going to be 10 so I thought she'd like this "grown up" card.

I just LOVE the new designer paper from DCWV...The Bewitched Matstack.  It made this card come together in a snap.  The glittery embossed pumpkins called for some extra glittery fun so I had to had that gorgeous May Arts Glitter Velvet Ribbon to my tag.  The tag is hand cut.

The cool witch and sentiment are from Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Set 1.

Want to know how I colored my tag?  Ritz die!  I was dying something else and decided to see what would happen if I dipped some tags in the die.  They came out a bit lighter than I hoped but I still like them.

Do you decorate for Halloween?

Supplies
Cardstock - Papertrey Smokey Shadow; DCWV - Bewitched Matstack
Ink - Versafine black

WOYWW172

Hello Wednesday!  It's time for another peek at the workdesks around the world on Julia's Stamping Ground WOYWW172 My desk is in much the same disarray as last time.  I've been busy but have to save my standing time for DT projects.

I did find a new stamp from Rubbernecker that I thought would be awesome for fall and wintery cards.

A new pad of paper from DCWV just right for Halloween, some tags that I dipped in Ritz die 'cause I wanted to see what they would do.  I put one down on plastic wrap and got a cool wrinkly pattern.  Picked up that cool bling at the Scrapbook Show for 99 cents!  Not sure what I'm going to do with the seeds yet.

Here in the tropical South, we're just planting our gardens but I don't think I'll be planting pumpkins...although, you never know!

I have some Whoopee news in the post below....so be sure to scroll down and check it out because you could win BIG!!

Finally got an appointment with the ankle specialist...Thursday.

Happy WOYWW!!

Clean & Simple Monday - Colorblocking

This week's Splitcoast Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS187) is a technique - Colorblocking.  I did a quick google search and found that this style is a very popular fashion trend right now so I took my inspiration from there...everyone royalty to the runway has been spotted in this trendy look so let's dress our cards for style.

I grabbed some bright scraps, some black for grounding and here's what happened:

The second card looks like a one layer but I actually layered the colored pieces onto white cs prior to adding the panel to the card base.

Easy, peasy way to use up those that ever growing stack of scraps and cool enough for guy cards, you think?

Supplies
Paper - Neenah Solar white; Papertrey Ink
Ink - Versafine
Stamps - Papertrey Sentimental Sayings
