Winner Day!

I've got it...coughing, sneezing, runny nose, can't sleep...a true Nyquil commercial.  Makes for a foggy creative head so please forgive my lack of a creation.

It is, however,  WINNER DAY !!!!

WOYWW138 - Sparkle N Sprinkle

It's Wednesday already! That means it's WOYWW 138 time over at Julia's Stamping Ground.  Time to peek in on the workdesks worldwide to see what crafty things are being created.

Here's the aftermath of a few cards I've been working on for Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Scarey, isn't it?  As soon as I finish this post, I'm back in the studio for a good clean up!

Here's a card I finished up last night.  Lots of sparkly sprinkly glitter for this Dream Girl by Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I was thinking of the song "By the Light of the Silvery Moon"...Yes, I'm old enough to remember Doris Day singing it.  A fun little song...

"By the light of the silvery moon,
I want to spoon, to my honey I'll croon love's tune
Honeymoon keep a-shining in June,
Your silv'ry beams will bring love dreams
We'll be cuddling soon,
By the silvery moon."

You can find the rest of the lyrics here that inspired this card.

You should see the sparkle IRL!

I used the Dream Fairy Stamp Set (it's on sale!) and the Dream Fairy Cut Files.  What?  You didn't know SNS has cut files for many of their stamps?  Well, now you do!  If you have an electronic machine that can cut SVG files, these intricate stamps can be easily cut in multiples for easy cardmaking.

You can find the supply list and instructions for making this card on the SNS site.  That fun heart shaped ribbon is May Arts and will be in my Etsy shop soon.

Don't forget my drawing for a Sparkle N Sprinkle Gift Certificate!  You've got until Jan. 31 to leave a comment at the link on my sidebar.

Thanks to all for the good wishes about my back.  Today was a therapy day.  We're trying to work the spasm out of my back so I'll probably be sore tomorrow but each day is a bit better.

Rubbernecker Stamps Tuesdays with the Team

It's my turn to host Tuesdays with the Team on the Rubbernecker Stamps Stampin' Sisterhood blog.  I've got a fun, easy and different take on a card for you.

See that score at the top...there's a surprise inside.  Head on over the Stampin' Sisterhood to see what it is.  There's a full tutorial there for you.

edited to add:  After trying to insert this into a regular A2 envelope, I found that moving the card to the 1/8" inch mark on the Scor-Pal then scoring at 4 1/4" and 4 1/2" made it fit much easier.

Rubbernecker Stamps Kittie Hop

KITTIE HOP BANNER/for top of post

Welcome to the KITTIE KIT HOP!   In case you didn’t know, Rubbernecker Stamps has a line of stamps called KITTIE KITS.   The kits include a variety of images that can be used together in many different ways to create all sorts of fun scenes.  Just wait, you will see what I mean! The Stampin’ Sisterhood has come together to share some of the ways that we use them!

All you have to do is follow the hop route and leave some love (a comment) at each blog.  What fun would a blog hop be with a prize?   The prize?.. You can win a Kittie Kit of your choice

The winner will be announced on the Rubbernecker blog on Friday, January 27th so you have plenty of time to visit each RN Sister's blog.

Here's my card using  the truck, tree and grass images from Kittie Kit Fall HarvestMy truck is all girl and full of spring cherry blossoms.   Girls drive trucks, right?  Building the scene was easy and so much fun!  I even have glass (acetate) windows!

I stamped the tree first, then the truck.  I stamped the truck again onto scrap cardstock, colored it with Prismacolor pencils/baby oil, and hightlighted it with a silver pen.  I cut out the truck and popped it with foam tape over my stamped truck.  The clouds were sponged using a handmade template.  I added the die cut clouds for extra dimension.  The little flowers were punched, formed and attached with CE.  The grass is sponged and stamped using the little grass images from the set..  I underlined under the truck with a Copic marker for depth.

I think I want a REAL pink truck now.  ;-)

Be on the look out for our NEXT HOP coming in FEBRUARY!  Until then, be sure to check out the daily posts on the STAMPIN’ SISTERHOOD blog!  Thanks again for joining us today and enjoy the hop!

Clean and Simple Monday

Thought I better get this posted early as mornings are still pretty rough getting out of bed.  Notice to the wise...do not fall down the stairs! : -{

I peeked early to see what the CAS Challenge was on SCS this week.  It's a color blocked sketch by DT member Loll.  So out of my comfort zone...I don't think I've ever done one like this before but it's definitely CAS.  I think it may have to grow on me...

Don't forget that I'm giving away a $25 gift certificate to Sparkle N Sprinkle at the end of the month!

43 years in love....and Blog Candy Giveaway

43 years ago my high school sweetheart and I said, "I do".  "For better, for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer....".  We've seen all that and could have added a few more.  ;-)
The road has not always been smooth but the destination has been so worth the ride.  We can truly say we love each other more now.  Our love is sweeter because we've weathered the trials...together.  Sometimes hanging on by our fingertips, but hanging on.
They say marriage is a marathon, not a sprint.  Having run a half marathon, I can attest to that....there is the initial euphoria of the start, the exhaustion, frustration and pain of the hills, brief downhill sprints, the fear of not being able to finish, then, you catch your second wind and the exultation at the prospect of the finish line looms...
So to the love of my life, I say, thank you for loving me...at my best and at my worst.

The card and flowers he picked out and arranged himself. We have a date for next week when my pain and his busy schedule allows us time for a proper celebration.  I can't wait!
I want to include you too....so for hanging in there while I've been recuperating and catching up, I have a present for you!  How about a $25 gift certificate to Sparkle N Sprinkle?   Now that's your choice of stamps, glitter, embossing powder, cut files....all in one cool place!
Here's all you have to do...since this is the season of love, leave me a comment telling me who you love and why.  If you have a blog...pass the word on...if not, that's ok too.  I will draw a winner on Tuesday, January 31st.

Teapot Tuesday - Spongebob for Joshua

Sometimes you hear a story that just touches your heart and makes you realize that no matter what you're going through, there is someone who is struggling much more in this life than you are.

Such is the case with Joshua Parker.  This brave little guy is just 5 years old.  You can read Joshua's Caring Bridge post here and the Teapot Tuesday Challenge is here.

Joshua LOVES Spongebob so we're sending him Spongebob valentines.  I didn't know a thing about Spongebob so I did a bit of "researching" and found out that he's a kitchen sponge who ended up in the sea.  Go figure!

I found a coloring page online and colored old Bob with Copics, cut him out, then dumped him in the sea with some beautiful Webster's Pages DP.

If you'd like to send Joshua a card, please DO NOT send get well cards. Make them Valentine or happy cards, please.  You will understand when you read his story.

The mailing address is:

a single rose

Thanks to everyone who's been hanging in with me while I've been recuperating from my fall down the stairs.  It looks like I'll have a few months of physical therapy to do but hopefully, the pain will continue to subside and my mojo will kick back in.

On a brighter note, I was able to actually make a card today!  This is the for the Rubbernecker Sisterhood sketch challenge SS5

The rose was stamped twice on X Press It card.  I cut out the image, then glued one down.  I then cut out the flower and petal from the second image and mounted them on top of the first image with foam tape.

Supplies
Card size - 5" x 5"
Paper - X Press It Card; Papertrey Smokey Shadow/Vintage Cream; K & Co. Black/Ivory Fusion
Ink - Tsukineko Memento; Copics
