May Arts & Faber Castell Blog Hop

The May Arts Ribbonistas are joining Faber-Castell to bring you some inspiring products this week.

I got to play with Faber Castell's Metallic Gelatos and Stamper's Big White Pen (can you say LOVE?)

I love the subtle shimmer on the water color paper as well as on the May Arts Eyelet Lace and that lovely salmon color..swoon!  I used it to color what began life as white May Arts Wrinkled Ribbon.

Now, with Gelatos, you can color white ribbon to custom match your cards in no time.

Here's how easy it is:  Rub the color on the ribbon, then use a baby wipe to blend it..a little or alot.  Easy!

I used watercolor paper for my card.  I made two swipes with the Gelatos, then used a very slightly dampened paper towel to blend them.  I found the baby wipe to be a bit too wet for the watercolor paper.

Thanks for joining us and be sure to visit each Designer's blog and leave some love.    Be sure to visit the Faber-Castell Blog and May Arts Blog as well for a chance to win your choice of 3 rolls of May Arts Ribbon (your choice) AND $50 in product from Faber-Castell Design!!

Here's the list in case you missed someone along the way:

 Shellye McDaniel
 Rhea Weigand

May Arts Halloween Challenge

It's that time of year again!  Time to start planning for Halloween parties, costumes and decorations.  May Arts Ribbon is kicking off the season with a Halloween Craft Challenge.

Fun, right?  20 people will be chosen to play along with us.

Several members of the Design Team have been chosen to create projects to get your creative juices flowing.  Here's a sneak peek at my project.  It's definitely "be-witching"!  Be sure to hop over to the May Arts Blog to see the rest of my project and a great tip for using hot glue!

We hope you'll play along with us as we kick off a week of fun and spooky projects.

Here are the ribbons we're using.  The Ribbon Lady will be choosing only 20 lucky people to play along with us and guess what?  She'll send you 2 yards each of ANY 4 of these to play with!  How cool is that?

Thanks for joining us!  Be sure to check back as we'll be announcing the winners of the Grand Opening giveaways soon!

Easy Back to School Bookmarks

It's that time of year!  The kids are back in school and book reading is back on the schedule.  We read to our kids and now our grandchildren every night.  Reading to your children creates a special bonding time and inspires their imaginations.

I've got a quick and super easy tutorial for you on the May Arts blog today for some easy and fun bookmarks.  You'll want to make extras for those Christmas stocking stuffers, too!  There's even an adult version for holdouts like me who prefer to hold a book rather than a Kindle.  :-)

Here's a sneak peek:

Cute, right?
