Foodie Friday - Parmesan Crusted Chicken w/Arugula & Tomatoes

One of our favorite chain restaurants is Carrabba's Italian Grill.  Our budget doesn't allow for frequent trips but we're never disappointed.  This spring, we went for my birthday.  DH got a new dish that was only available for the spring, Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Arugula and Tomato Salad.   He raved with every bite about how delicious it was and has been talking about it ever since.

I decided to see if I could replicate it for him.  He said it's nearly identical.  Woo,Hoo.  I must say, it was delicious and look at that golden crust on the chicken!  It would good by itself.  Definitely carmelize the lemons and squeeze on the chicken/salad.  All this in under 45 minutes!!

I took notes as I cooked so you can find a printable recipe HERE and on the Recipe Link above.

Bon Appetito!

An Elegant Fall and WOYWW 125

Hooray!  It's my turn on the May Arts blog to show you what I've done with Creative Imaginations Paint It papers and H20's.  Here's a peek at what I've been playing with.

Here's a sneak peak at one project:

Are they not gorgeous?  Pop over to see what else I did with this and more!  Be sure to leave a comment to win while you're there!!

It's time for WOYWW over at Julia's Stamping Ground.  There's nothing on my desk that I can share yet so I thought I'd show you the little sign that I found many years ago.    Yep, that's me...always behind or at least it feels that way!  Guess, I'm living forever at this rate!!!   It's traveled all over the US with us and has mostly been attached to my washing machine or refrigerator because it's magnetic.

Well, believe it or not the fridge door is wood and the washer is one of those front loaders (BTW, I think we're going backwards...my mom had one of these in the 50's for heaven's sake!)

Be sure to pop in to see the other workdesks across the world.

Less is More - Breast Cancer Awareness

I have a cool photo to share with you.  Earlier this month, our town lit up the main bridge across the river in pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.  The idea was submitted by my friend, Neil Zimmerman.  Neil is a very talented young man who came up with the idea and a way to do it inexpensively.  Neil attends the University of Florida (I'll forgive him for that!).  I thought you might want to see ho how cool it looked. Neil's mom was kind enough to share this photo taken by Steven Martine.

I created a card for a freind at church who was recently diagnosed with BC.  You can find it on my Tuesdays with the Team post at Rubbernecker Stamps Blog.  Here's a little sneak peek.  I'll pop over there to see what you think.

I used the Polka Dot theme from the Less is More Week 38 challenge.

Clean and Simple Monday & Blog Candy Winner

Today's CAS challenge on SCS is a sketch.  I must admit this one was difficult for me.  This is my second attempt and I'm still not sure I like it.  That tag going across the front bothers me, but that's the sketch!

As promised, here's the winner of the Petaloo Flowers and Core'dinations paper.

Foodless Friday- MB update - CPS137

No food this Friday.  UGH...I made a beautiful pot of chili last night to celebrate the first chill of autumnal weather here in the tropical south and totally forgot to take a photo.  There was a tiny bit left over after sharing some with our contractor so I will try to snap a picture later today.

I do have a card and a peek at what's happening in the master bath.  I used the sketch from Card Patterns CPS137.

This card was made using Creative Imaginations Paint It DP and Die Cuts and Twinkling H20's.  The sentiment is from Rubbernecker StampsThe Mustard Green matched that gorgeous May Arts ribbon perfectly and I so love the shimmer.  I almost felt like an artist swiping my brush across the paper...almost!

Supply List
Cardstock - Papertrey Ink; Designer Paper - Creative Imaginations Paint It with Luminarte
Ink - Tsukineko Versafine black, Copic Special Black marker
Sentiment - Rubbernecker Stamps - 582-05
Other -  May Arts ribbon, ivory mulberry roses (the black one is colored with Copic marker), string and stick on pearls, dimensionals, sewing machine

Ok, here's a sneak preview of what's happening the bathroom.  I'll show you a before and after so you can see the difference.

This is the old shower area on the left before.

Demolition!
The almost completed shower and the new tile....we're getting there!

Don't forget to leave a comment for my May Arts/Core'dinations/Petaloo giveaway.  I'll draw the winner tomorrow.

little cutie pie

I just adore this image so thought it might be good practice for my Copics.  Practice, practice, practice.

DH is home today chopping down a tree that I told him would shade the vegetable garden if we put it where he wanted it but for some reason, he didn't listen sooooooo, now he has a job.  It was a big ugly, messy oak that was in the wrong place to begin with.  We inherited it when we bought the house.  It just got bigger and uglier and messier.  The neighbors are very happy to be getting some firewood.

Supply List
Cardstock/Designer paper - PTI
Stamps - Eline; PTI
Ink - Memento, Copics
Other - ribbon, stick on pearls, PTI banner die, Spellbinders scalloped circle

WOYWW 124

This has been a week of  "the faster I go, the behinder I get".   I'm guessing it will only get worse now that the holidays are upon us...eeek!  Where did the summer go?  It's been a week of  "liquid sunshine" here in the Sunshine State...not sure the pond can take too much more water and my poor little vegetable plants are probably drowning although it's been to wet to go check on them.

It's time for WOYWW#124 across the pond. Julia has her workdesk cleaned up nicely and mine just gets worse by the moment.  I think once the all the various projects reach some level of completion it might get better, you think?

I'm giving you a wide view as I don't want to give away any secrets.

Don't forget to donate to Katie Renz' fund if you can.  The button is at the top right of my page.  Katie's story is here if you're unfamiliar.

Also, I have a giveaway coming at the end of May Art/Core'dinations/Petaloo Week here.

Clean & Simple Teapot Tuesday

The CAS challenge this week on SCS140 is a theme - Cupcakes!  It just so happens that the Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT168 this week is also - Cupcakes! so I waited to combine them both to send to  Elsie in Aurora, Colorado.  Elsie's birthday is Oct. 31.  She's the mom of the co-pilot of the helicopter that was shot down with all the Navy Seals aboard a few weeks ago.   We're hoping to try to bring her some birthday cheer so no Halloween or sad cards...just cupcakes...lots and lots of cupcakes!

I'm running on 2 hours of sleep so keeping this short and simple because very soon I will cease to make any sense at all.  Here's the inspiration teapot Cindy chose.  I decided to go with the pattern and pretty colors.

Look what I caught...after I took the photo!

That pearl is definitely not supposed to be there...guess it's tired too.

Supplies:
Cardstock - SU, Girls Paperie
Ink- Memento, Copics
Stamps - There She Goes Cupcakes
Other - stick on pearls, paper doilie, stickles, MA ribbon

Clean & Simple Monday

Today is my DH's birthday.  We have grown old together and I have to say, the second half is so much better than the first was.  We celebrated yesterday, just the two of us and it was good.  I never, however, give him his card until his actual birthday so here is what he got this morning when he got up to make the coffee...yes, he does that!

I wanted something simple but not fishing or BBQ like I usually do and then I spied a old deck of cards that we got at Churchill Downs years ago.   They give the cards they use for gambling away (no we didn't do that!) but first they put a hole clear through the entire pack of cards...box and all.  I have no idea why.  Now you know where the idea for the banner die across the front came from.  He had a hole clean through his middle!

He left me a sweet note saying he loves this card the mostest of any...maybe 'cause I wrote mushy stuff inside, you think?

Supplies:
Cardstock - PTI
Stamps - PTI Enjoy the Ride
Ink - Tsukineko Versafine
Other - playing card, PTI banner die, computer generated sentiment, stick on bling

Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Blog Hop

It's time for the Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Blog Hop!  The Rubbernecker Design Team aka "The Stampin' Sisterhood", has created some spooky cute Halloween projects for you and because it's Halloween, we have a treat for you, too!  Be sure to read on to find out how you can win.

I created these spookily elegant nugget boxes using Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Set 1 (473).  The images are heat embossed with black embossing powder.

Now whoooo could resist these treats?

I used the same set with the Rubbernecker Sleepy Hollow Tree (590) to create a fun little Halloween scene on this card.  The owl is heat embossed, cut out and popped up on a foam dot.

You can find another card I made using the Halloween Set 1 here.  I used Halloween Set 3 to create this cute little treat box.

Now grab a cup of your favorite beverage, settle in and visit each Sister's blog.  Leave a comment at each blog for your chance to win your choice of one of these adorable Halloween sets.  You should end up at the Rubbernecker blog.

Here's your blog route.  If you arrived from Bev's blog, you're in the right place.

Foodie Friday - Wicked Good Halloween Wishes

Happy Foodie Friday!  We try to eat seasonally at our house (unless I've frozen or canned something!) so we eagerly await the arrival of the new crop of crisp apples.  Some to eat out of hand and some for this yummy pie.  I make it as often as I think our waistlines can handle it.  :-)  I posted the recipe way back in 2009 so I've put it on a printable doc for you so you can have some too.  You can also find the link on the Recipe page above for future reference.

Praline Taffy Apple Pie...yes, Virginia, it's that wicked good!!

Don't forget to make the Perfect Pie Crust recipe to go with it but I bet you have some in the freezer. ;-)

Wicked good pie needs a wicked good Halloween card to go with it.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday 210.   I left off the sentiment panel and opted to stamp my sentiment below the border because I didn't want to cover up all that lovely glittery paper.  Think I'll be forgiven?  I used the elegant bats from Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Set 1.

You'll want to pop back in on Sunday...the Rubbernecker Stamps DT is hosting a Blog Hop and there will be a prize along the way!

I used Versamark to stamp the small bat background and just a strip of glittery K & Co. paper.  The single bat is heat embossed with black detail embossing powder.  I dipped the edges of the cardstock in glue and glitter for extra sparkle.

Supply List:
Cardstock - Papertrey Ink
Designer Paper - K & Co.
Ink - Tsukineko Versamark
Other - MS glitter, ribbon, Spellbinders Square dies, MS border punch, black detail EP

Happy News

Happy News.  I am honored to announce that I've been chosen to be a member of the Sparkle N Sprinkle Design Team!

I learned about Sparkle N Sprinkle when I attended the Copics class a few weeks ago.  Several of the ladies there were just raving about the glitters, flocks and stamps so I HAD to go take a look.

They were having a DT Call so I decided to throw my hat into the ring.   I'm waiting for my order so be sure to stay tuned for lots of glittery future fun.
