A Card for Quincy -CPS158

My little friend (she's almost 2), Quincy, took a tumble off a slide and has a possible broken arm.  They won't know for sure until the swelling goes down.  Poor baby!  I thought a personalized card of her very own was in order.

I used Card Patterns Sketch 158

and this sweet image from Pure Innocence.  I computer generated Quincy's name.  Hope it brightens her day a bit.

Supplies
Paper - Neenah; PTI; Crate Paper Emma's Shop
Ink - Memento; Copics
Other - May Arts Twisted Rope; sewing machine, paper doily, buttons, Spellbinders wavy rectangle

WOYWW 147 - Early by golly!

I've must have been very good because I was going through my Google Reader and there, was WOYWW147, early!  Julia's out and about...while the cat's away and all that!  Normally, I'm number 100+++ because of the time difference.  I ran and took a quick shot of the desk and here ya go:

See that organizer in the corner...brand new and I LOVE IT.  I was able to clear a drawer of big clunky schtuff.  Don't know why I didn't do it sooner.  I can actually find things now.

I have a treat for you too...not a stamping one, a heart one.  A friend passed this on and I don't usually do this but it will make your day, I promise.  To my friends across the pond.  Bravo!

Teapot Tuesday - MMTPT191

Sorry I missed Clean and Simple Monday...I darn near cut the tip of my pinky off with a knife so crafting was out of the question today...I had this card for Teapot Tuesday done already thank goodness.  Typing with a bandage on is a bit awkward so this will be a short one.

This week we "Tickle a Teapotter"  That means our card gets sent to a secret sister that only Cindy knows. Once all the cards are submitted, she will send us the name of the person to send our card to.  Our assignment was to go to France and we get extra cookies if we bring a chuckle to the tea party.

I found this digi on Etsy.  Perfectly French and perfectly humorous...hope I get cookies!

Supplies:
Image - Antique Graphique
Paper - Graphic 45 Transatlantique; PTI
Ink - Copics; Versafine Sepia
Other - twine, buttons, antique music sheet, corner rounder

Rubbernecker Mother's Day Blog Hop

It's time for another Rubbernecker Stamps Stampin' Sisterhood Blog Hop!
We're getting a head start on the month of May with a Mother's Day Blog Hop.   Each of the Rubbernecker designers has created a card we hope will inspire you.

I chose a soft palette to complement Rubbernecker's Single Leaf Rose.  I also used the Butterfly Inchies Set to stamp directly onto my designer paper, stamping and stamping off to get lighter each time.  Just in case you thought you were seeing double, you can relax.  I stamped the sentiment twice.  Once in PTI Smokey Shadow, then just ever so slightly to the right, I stamped again in Versafine Black.

Don't Throw it Away!

If you're looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop...just scroll down to the next post!  Hurry, though...today's the last day to comment.

Have you seen the newest release from PaperCrafts Magazine?  It's called "Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters"  and I'm so on it!  I'm a hoarder from waaaaay back.  I can't stand to throw anything away that I think I might be able to use someday.

Is this cover not beautious as well?

Cath is hosting a series of challenges based on this issue.  This one fits me perfectly...It's the "Don't Throw It Away" Challenge.   Anyone who's peeked in on my workdesk on What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, has seen this strip of ribbon hanging in various positions.  I've moved it  from shelf to shelf but...

I just couldn't bear to throw it away...I mean it had adhesive on it and everything.  I also had a scrap of crocheted lace and a piece of butcher's cord...butcher's cord, you ask?  Yep, that stuff you tie the turkey's legs together with at Thanksgiving time.

I pulled them together with some scraps of Graphic 45 paper, a bit forlorn paper butterfly that got punched a long time ago and here's the result.

I think I like it...gosh...I'm gonna miss seeing that ribbon scrap though!

Supplies
3 x 5 notebook
Paper - Graphic 45
Other - ribbon scrap, butcher cord scrap, lace scrap, Martha Stewart butterfly, stick on pearls, gcd chipboard sticker (clearance item)

Sparkle N Sprinkle March Blog Hop

Otherwise, you might like starting from the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog to become eligible for FIVE great prizes (2 Grand prizes and 3 random prizes that are hidden on the designers' blogs).

Our theme this month is Flower Child.   I chose to go the soft and sweet route with this cute image from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Becca with Tulips image.  You can also find her on the Daddy's Princess Set (413).  I left a sentiment off so that card could be used for anything from Mother's Day to birthday or thinking of you occasions.

You can find a complete tutorial and list of products used here. SNS has a sale this month on Flowers – Children – Spanish and Artist Tom Jones.

Thanks so much for taking the time to hop with us.  Be sure to leave a comment on each designer's blog in order to be eligible for a prize.  Your next stop is Lana Clarke's blog.

Rubbernecker Sisterhood Sunday Challenge

It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Sisterhood Sunday Challenge (SS15) on the Rubbernecker Stampin Sisterhood blog.

This week, Jacquie, our blog moderator, has given us an inspiration challenge.

Looks like a party's goin' on!  Here's my take on the challenge:

you can click on any photo to make it larger

I loved all the dots on the candles/cupcake wrapper, the bright colors and the sparkle from the lit candles.  I stamped the cupcake on the card front, then stamped it again, cut it out and popped it up with a bit of foam tape.  I used Sparkle N Sprinkle's Dimensional Glue on the frosting, then applied Sparkle Soft Twinkling Clouds for the frosting. The circles are adhered with glue dots then dotted with a glue pen and a sprinkling of glitter.

 Here are the challenge details:

You've got one week from today to create a card or project using the inspiration photo and link it up on the Stampin Sisterhood blog.

A winner will chosen from all projects submitted.  That winner will get to choose a stamp of their choice from Rubbernecker Stamps

At the end of the month, one of the 4 weekly winners will be chosen to win a STAMP SET of their choice from Rubbernecker Stamps!

We can't wait to see what you create. Be sure to head to the RNSS blog to see what the rest of the Sunday Sisters have created to spark your creativity.

Stamps - Rubbernecker Party Time Set (439)
Paper - Stampin Up; Bazzill Basics
Ink - Memento; Copics; Kaleidacolor Calypso

Someday, I will live in a room like this....

Better Homes and Gardens

Yeah, right...but a girl can dream, can't she?  This is the inspiration photo for this week's Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World.

This card has been in my head all week.  Well, at least the background was.  I love those colors and that rug...oh, that rug!

Paper - Neenah
Ink - Versamagic Sahara Sand; SU Pink Pirhouette

Aliens!

If you've got pre-teen or teenage children (girls especially!), you know that the term "aliens" is wholly appropriate.  Somehow, overnight, that sweet, compliant child has become a creature we don't even recognize sometimes.  That's what inspired this card when I saw these cute alien figures from Sparkle N Sprinkle(psst...they're on sale!)

I thought that perhaps if it was sparkly enough and just cute enough, it might coax a smile from said grumpy teen.  What do you think?

Supplies
Paper - Neenah; Bazzill; K & Co. Citronella
Ink - Versamark; Copics
Other - SNS Embossing Powder (Antiquities); SNS Glitter; Spellbinders circle dies, foam tape, May Arts leaves; BBP bling; flower (stash)

WOYWW116 - Lost in Space?

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW116) at Julia's Stamping Ground and if I don't get busy, it will be Thursday before this gets posted!  Goodness...DH has a day off today and we slept in until almost 9:00...YIKES...that never happens here.  I think that time change has us all in a loop...or something!

At any rate, I had good intentions; I actually took my picture in the daylight yesterday to be prepared.

I actually cleaned up my room yesterday in preparation for a new carousel I ordered for my tools.  I was working on a fun shape I found in one of the PaperCrafts Sketch magazines.  I had to enlarge it  by hand and with the help of a Spellbinders circle, but I love how it turned out.

This cute image is from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Alien Set (280) This is a great set for cards for older boys and men that are sometimes hard to create for.

Guess what came in the mail...and super fast too?  The Ribbon Carousel !!  I didn't waste any time loading it up with my most used ribbons.

May Arts Silk...Love it!!  Thanks Ribbon Carousel for the gorgeous carousel! (I won it on their Facebook page in case you missed the post.)

And finally....I'm packing up the Blog Candy in anticipation of the drawing on the 17th.  As I promised, the stash has grown and that mailing bag is FULL...so if you haven't entered, you've got just a few more days...but not on this post.  Be sure to go to the link and follow the directions.

Thanks for popping in on this LATE Wednesday.
