Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Blog Hop

I created these spookily elegant nugget boxes using Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Set 1 (473).  The images are heat embossed with black embossing powder.

Now whoooo could resist these treats?

I used the same set with the Rubbernecker Sleepy Hollow Tree (590) to create a fun little Halloween scene on this card.  The owl is heat embossed, cut out and popped up on a foam dot.

Book Makeover

Foodie Friday - Wicked Good Halloween Wishes

Happy Foodie Friday!  We try to eat seasonally at our house (unless I've frozen or canned something!) so we eagerly await the arrival of the new crop of crisp apples.  Some to eat out of hand and some for this yummy pie.  I make it as often as I think our waistlines can handle it.  :-)  I posted the recipe way back in 2009 so I've put it on a printable doc for you so you can have some too.  You can also find the link on the Recipe page above for future reference.

Don't forget to make the Perfect Pie Crust recipe to go with it but I bet you have some in the freezer. ;-)

Wicked good pie needs a wicked good Halloween card to go with it.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday 210.   I left off the sentiment panel and opted to stamp my sentiment below the border because I didn't want to cover up all that lovely glittery paper.  Think I'll be forgiven?  I used the elegant bats from Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Set 1.

I used Versamark to stamp the small bat background and just a strip of glittery K & Co. paper.  The single bat is heat embossed with black detail embossing powder.  I dipped the edges of the cardstock in glue and glitter for extra sparkle.

Happy News

Happy News.  I am honored to announce that I've been chosen to be a member of the Sparkle N Sprinkle Design Team!

 I learned about Sparkle N Sprinkle when I attended the Copics class a few weeks ago.  Several of the ladies there were just raving about the glitters, flocks and stamps so I HAD to go take a look.

They were having a DT Call so I decided to throw my hat into the ring.   I'm waiting for my order so be sure to stay tuned for lots of glittery future fun.

We have alot of family and friend birthdays this month!  This one is for our son's nephew.  I can't remember if he'll be 11 or 12.  Either way, too old for a cutesy card.

Swimming for Katie

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer. If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file. 100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family. Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support. I am proud to say that this card was designed by sweet little 10 year old neighbor, Gillian.  I was watching Gillian while her mother ran an errand and when I told her about Katie, she immediately wanted to make a card.  I showed her a sketch and she got right to work picking papers, ribbon and markers.  I think she did an amazing job!

Demolition Derby & a Moxie Fab Challenge

I love to make and fill little "boo boxes" for Halloween to give to the special people in our lives.  This one goes to our grandson.  Head over to the May Arts blog for all the details and to see the rest of the project.

WOYWW #122 - You Rock!

I'm late...again...no use apologizing because it's sure to happen often now that the remodel has begun.  I do have a card for you and a peek at my new IKEA pieces...I love my studio now...it stays clean, I can work somewhat neatly and I can put everything away when I'm finished...YAHOO!

First up is a card for the son of our youngest son's girlfriend....say that 3X real fast!  He just made all A's and B's on his report card for the first time.

 His school colors are gold, black and white.  The "you Rock" sentiment is embossed in black ep and popped up on the card.  Anyone know how to get those eyelet brads on without indenting them in the middle?  I mangled the first set with the Crop-a-dile and then decided to hammer these in with somewhat the same result but less mashing.

Now for a peek inside my studio.  I have only two useable walls as one wall is sliding glass doors (for which I'm grateful but they do limit workable space) and the other wall is closet (a walk in for which I'm also thankful) and the room door.  The third wall has another door on it to the attached bath but I still have have about 80 inches of space.

I LOVE this wall unit.  Everything organized and easy to find! 

This sweet kitchen unit is only 42 long, and is in the center of the room.  I am in heaven.  Guess what I store in there?

3 big drawers full of ribbon...easy to find, easy to cut, and sorted by color....

This unit used to be where the shelves are.  It's the cutting, embossing station.

I love my room now!  Much less clutter means the brain works so much better...well, that point may be up for debate but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I took this before it was light.  You may notice that I moved the plastics units around.  This configuration is much more efficient.

Teapot Tuesday - Amazing Grace

Dear Readers..I am a bad blogger and for that I apologize.   I haven't been able to visit your blogs but I promise to try to get back at it this week.  We are preparing for a major master bath remodel and finding a place to store everything that's in there has been "interesting".  I think I'm coming down with something too so I'm all grumpy and out of sorts...you wouldn't like to be here today. 

At any rate, I took a bit to try to get the Teapot Tuesday card done...I've missed them.  This one goes to Sharon who has had to have multiple foot surgeries and many months in rehab.  Sharon misses her granddaugher's in Arizona and loves the color purple as well as flowers and faith based cards.  You can read the entire story here if you'd like to send her a card.    My card looks nothing like the teapot this week.  I just went with what Sharon likes.

I took some "before" photos of the bathroom so I'll share those with you later this week...if I'm brave enough...it's pretty awful!

Foodie Friday - Zac's back!

While I had this cute little piece of rubber on my desk, I thought I'd make another Zac card for the Christmas stash. 

I made a frame using my Spellbinders Square dies and popped it up around the image using foam dots.  The background is stamped with Versamark and one of the new snowflakes from the Rubbernecker Winter Holiday Snowflake set.  There are tons of gorgeous big and small snowflakes in that set!  Love it!!

Since the rest of country is celebrating fall, it's still stinking hot here!, I thought I'd make one of our most favorite fall desserts, Apple Crisp.  The original recipe was called Apple Crisp Pudding although I have no idea why.  Hint:  Men LOVE this!
