It's November and that means my very favorite holiday is on the way.  I love Thanksgiving...I always have.   It reminds me of happy times, good friends, family, counting our blessings and those oh so good smells coming from the kitchen.

Happy Birthday Karen!

We're having a birthday party and you're invited!  Today is the uber talented, Karen Baker's birthday and a few of us have decided to give her an online card party to celebrate.  .

We're using the sketch from Artful Delight ASC#37 and lots of burlap because it's one of Karen's favorite ribbons.

I used Real Wood Paper as one of my layers...love that stuff.  The background is May Arts Wired Burlap Ribbon.  I removed the wires and attached the ribbon with Scor-Tape for a secure hold.

Happy Birthday, Karen!!

May Arts Halloween Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Arts Halloween Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from the talented Candy Rosenberg's blog.   I've had a ball creating this wreath.  Hope you enjoy it.

I started with a plain grapevine wreath that I picked up for $3 at my local craft store.  I added a few fun embellishments like this dapper sparkly crow.  Then the fun began with all that wonderful May Arts Ribbon!

I ended up turning him around so his pretty sparkly chest was more prominent.  You can click on any photo for a closer look at these amazing ribbons!

I had some wired picks in my stash of "stuff" so I simply wired 10" pieces of ribbon like this:

and poked them securely into the wreath, then added some sparkly orange pumpkins.

May Arts & Faber Castell Blog Hop

                          


The May Arts Ribbonistas are joining Faber-Castell to bring you some inspiring products this week.

I got to play with Faber Castell's Metallic Gelatos and Stamper's Big White Pen (can you say LOVE?)

I love the subtle shimmer on the water color paper as well as on the May Arts Eyelet Lace and that lovely salmon color..swoon!  I used it to color what began life as white May Arts Wrinkled Ribbon.

Now, with Gelatos, you can color white ribbon to custom match your cards in no time.

Here's how easy it is:  Rub the color on the ribbon, then use a baby wipe to blend it..a little or alot.  Easy!

I used watercolor paper for my card.  I made two swipes with the Gelatos, then used a very slightly dampened paper towel to blend them.  I found the baby wipe to be a bit too wet for the watercolor paper.

May Arts Halloween Challenge

It's that time of year again!  Time to start planning for Halloween parties, costumes and decorations.  May Arts Ribbon is kicking off the season with a Halloween Craft Challenge.

Fun, right?  20 people will be chosen to play along with us.  

Several members of the Design Team have been chosen to create projects to get your creative juices flowing.  Here's a sneak peek at my project.  It's definitely "be-witching"!  Be sure to hop over to the May Arts Blog to see the rest of my project and a great tip for using hot glue!
