43 years in love....and Blog Candy Giveaway

43 years ago my high school sweetheart and I said, "I do".  "For better, for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer....".  We've seen all that and could have added a few more.  ;-)
The road has not always been smooth but the destination has been so worth the ride.  We can truly say we love each other more now.  Our love is sweeter because we've weathered the trials...together.  Sometimes hanging on by our fingertips, but hanging on.
They say marriage is a marathon, not a sprint.  Having run a half marathon, I can attest to that....there is the initial euphoria of the start, the exhaustion, frustration and pain of the hills, brief downhill sprints, the fear of not being able to finish, then, you catch your second wind and the exultation at the prospect of the finish line looms...
So to the love of my life, I say, thank you for loving me...at my best and at my worst.

The card and flowers he picked out and arranged himself. We have a date for next week when my pain and his busy schedule allows us time for a proper celebration.  I can't wait!
I want to include you too....so for hanging in there while I've been recuperating and catching up, I have a present for you!  How about a $25 gift certificate to Sparkle N Sprinkle?   Now that's your choice of stamps, glitter, embossing powder, cut files....all in one cool place!
Here's all you have to do...since this is the season of love, leave me a comment telling me who you love and why.  If you have a blog...pass the word on...if not, that's ok too.  I will draw a winner on Tuesday, January 31st.

Congratulations on your 43 years of love and happiness.
My love is my high school sweetheart and the love of my life for almost 53 years. Went through separation because of the military, then going through 5 years of trying to get pregnant. Thanks to God and my Doctor, we then had a son, 13 months later twin boys and 2 years later a girl. Now we have 8 randchildren. He is kind, loving and so patient with me. Especaially with my obsession with my crafts. Our joy is our children and grandchildren. And being together all of the time. While I do my crafts, he'll wash the clothes, clean the house and make dinner. God has really blessed me with him. His mom raised him right!
Many more years of happiness to you and your hubby.

Many congratulations on your Anniversary Charlene - the flowers are gorgeous :)
My special love is my soul mate and husband; we met by fate and I can honestly say that the only argument we have had in 28 years was due to the kids!

Happy Anniversary to you, your story is so sweet, I love the card he picked out for you and the roses are beautiful. My love is also my husband of 28 years, our youngest will graduate HS this year and we are looking to the future with hope and the joys of spending more time together. It does just get better as the years go by! Again Happy Anniversary and may you have many more.

Happy anniversary to you and your husband.
I absolutely love my children and their childran. Since I was widowed about 8 years ago, they have been the ones who have given me love and support and laughter (and heartache). They are the ones who make the ride worthwhile.

Congratulations on 43 years of marriage. In today's society, that's a great accomplishment. I love my husband of almost 23 years because he is my best friend and someone I look forward to spending our empty nest time with. Can't wait. Have fun!

Congratulations, Charlene! Love your story and shared experiences. Jack and I were just saying that after 35 years, we're so grateful for the challenges which brought us closer. It's comforting to be with the one who accepts us unconditionally, including all those "secrets" no one else knows. Your white roses are beautiful! I hope someone enjoys the $25 gift certificate! Many more happy years to you and your husband, Charlene.

Congratulations on 43 years of wedded bliss, Charlene! My husband is the love of my life and my best friend! We've been married 37 years, have 3 sons and 2 grandsons. We were married just a few short years when we accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour, and our marriage has taken on new meaning. God is the center of everything in our lives, and I honestly would not want it any other way. Mike is such a great spiritual leader in our home, a great listener and the best fix-it guy any gal could ask for! Blessings to you~ Roberta

Congratulations Charlene to you & your hubby of 43 years! The love of my life is similar....I married my high school sweetheart 50 years ago last May (2011) and we have grown closer and more in love as we have matured. We were 18 and 19 at the time we were married so we were still "children" but we were so in love we didn't see it that way. Trials and tribulations over the years but a deep love for each other has seen us through. We are happily looking forward to another 50 years together!!!

Wow, 43 years. Congratulations and happy anniversary. I love the way you described marriage - I will try to remember the analogy. It sounds so corny to say my husband, but it is true. He has stood by and been supportive through all the changes I have gone through. I really don't remember what my life was like before I met him.

the one i love the most in all creation is my Father, God. i consider Him to be my only father. my biologicla dad wasn't much of a father (Praise the Lord he was saved shortly before he died and i will get a chance to have a special realtionship with him in heavean) but as long as i can remember i have always felt a special father - daughter realationship with God. no matter how rough things have been He is always there and the best dad in the universe and beyond!
