Hubby needed a treat for work and since it's the fall season, I thought a good old fashioned recipe was in order.
This is a simple cake that needs no frosting. It's delicious on its own, dolloped with whipped cream or a sprinkling of powdered sugar. Serve it warm and it's like being wrapped in a blanket of comforting spices. Chock full of applesauce, raisins and nuts, it's pure comfort food! So grab a glass of cold milk and join me.

Enjoy!
PS...Thanks for all the good wishes....the carpet cleaners had to come back again today...paint still in rug...sigh

I'm soooo sorry about the rug...hopefully they got it all.
Your cake sounds fab...can't wait to try it...my family lives in our fruit growing region...the Okanagan.
I always bring back apples when we go for a visit.
this looks delicious...have you ever made it without the nuts?
