Don't Throw it Away!

If you're looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop...just scroll down to the next post!  Hurry, though...today's the last day to comment.

Have you seen the newest release from PaperCrafts Magazine?  It's called "Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters"  and I'm so on it!  I'm a hoarder from waaaaay back.  I can't stand to throw anything away that I think I might be able to use someday.

Is this cover not beautious as well?

Cath is hosting a series of challenges based on this issue.  This one fits me perfectly...It's the "Don't Throw It Away" Challenge.   Anyone who's peeked in on my workdesk on What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, has seen this strip of ribbon hanging in various positions.  I've moved it  from shelf to shelf but...

I just couldn't bear to throw it away...I mean it had adhesive on it and everything.  I also had a scrap of crocheted lace and a piece of butcher's cord...butcher's cord, you ask?  Yep, that stuff you tie the turkey's legs together with at Thanksgiving time.

I pulled them together with some scraps of Graphic 45 paper, a bit forlorn paper butterfly that got punched a long time ago and here's the result.

I think I like it...gosh...I'm gonna miss seeing that ribbon scrap though!

Supplies
3 x 5 notebook
Paper - Graphic 45
Other - ribbon scrap, butcher cord scrap, lace scrap, Martha Stewart butterfly, stick on pearls, gcd chipboard sticker (clearance item)

Sparkle N Sprinkle March Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Spring Fling blog hop! If you hopped here by way of Julie Zippel, then you are in the right place! Otherwise, you might like starting from the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog to become eligible for FIVE great prizes (2 Grand prizes and 3 random prizes that are hidden on the designers' blogs).

Our theme this month is Flower Child.   I chose to go the soft and sweet route with this cute image from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Becca with Tulips image.  You can also find her on the Daddy's Princess Set (413).  I left a sentiment off so that card could be used for anything from Mother's Day to birthday or thinking of you occasions.

You can find a complete tutorial and list of products used here. SNS has a sale this month on Flowers – Children – Spanish and Artist Tom Jones.

Thanks so much for taking the time to hop with us.  Be sure to leave a comment on each designer's blog in order to be eligible for a prize.  Your next stop is Lana Clarke's blog.

Here's the order for the Hop in case you get lost and need to check back in.

Rubbernecker Sisterhood Sunday Challenge

It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Sisterhood Sunday Challenge (SS15) on the Rubbernecker Stampin Sisterhood blog.

This week, Jacquie, our blog moderator, has given us an inspiration challenge.

Looks like a party's goin' on!  Here's my take on the challenge:

you can click on any photo to make it larger

I loved all the dots on the candles/cupcake wrapper, the bright colors and the sparkle from the lit candles.  I stamped the cupcake on the card front, then stamped it again, cut it out and popped it up with a bit of foam tape.  I used Sparkle N Sprinkle's Dimensional Glue on the frosting, then applied Sparkle Soft Twinkling Clouds for the frosting. The circles are adhered with glue dots then dotted with a glue pen and a sprinkling of glitter.

 Here are the challenge details:

You've got one week from today to create a card or project using the inspiration photo and link it up on the Stampin Sisterhood blog.

A winner will chosen from all projects submitted.  That winner will get to choose a stamp of their choice from Rubbernecker Stamps

At the end of the month, one of the 4 weekly winners will be chosen to win a STAMP SET of their choice from Rubbernecker Stamps!

We can't wait to see what you create. Be sure to head to the RNSS blog to see what the rest of the Sunday Sisters have created to spark your creativity.

Supplies:
Stamps - Rubbernecker Party Time Set (439)
Paper - Stampin Up; Bazzill Basics
Ink - Memento; Copics; Kaleidacolor Calypso
Other - 1/2" circle punch; Sparkle N Sprinkle Sparkle Soft Twinkling Clouds (frosting on cupcake), Sparkling Snow Glitter; foam tape, glue dots, corner rounder; Quickie Glue Pen; SNS Dimensional glue

Better Homes and Gardens

Yeah, right...but a girl can dream, can't she?  This is the inspiration photo for this week's Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World.

Aliens!

If you've got pre-teen or teenage children (girls especially!), you know that the term "aliens" is wholly appropriate.  Somehow, overnight, that sweet, compliant child has become a creature we don't even recognize sometimes.  That's what inspired this card when I saw these cute alien figures from Sparkle N Sprinkle(psst...they're on sale!)

I thought that perhaps if it was sparkly enough and just cute enough, it might coax a smile from said grumpy teen.  What do you think?

Supplies
Paper - Neenah; Bazzill; K & Co. Citronella
Ink - Versamark; Copics
Other - SNS Embossing Powder (Antiquities); SNS Glitter; Spellbinders circle dies, foam tape, May Arts leaves; BBP bling; flower (stash)

WOYWW116 - Lost in Space?

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW116) at Julia's Stamping Ground and if I don't get busy, it will be Thursday before this gets posted!  Goodness...DH has a day off today and we slept in until almost 9:00...YIKES...that never happens here.  I think that time change has us all in a loop...or something!

At any rate, I had good intentions; I actually took my picture in the daylight yesterday to be prepared.

I actually cleaned up my room yesterday in preparation for a new carousel I ordered for my tools.  I was working on a fun shape I found in one of the PaperCrafts Sketch magazines.  I had to enlarge it  by hand and with the help of a Spellbinders circle, but I love how it turned out.

This cute image is from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Alien Set (280) This is a great set for cards for older boys and men that are sometimes hard to create for.

Guess what came in the mail...and super fast too?  The Ribbon Carousel !!  I didn't waste any time loading it up with my most used ribbons.

May Arts Silk...Love it!!  Thanks Ribbon Carousel for the gorgeous carousel! (I won it on their Facebook page in case you missed the post.)

And finally....I'm packing up the Blog Candy in anticipation of the drawing on the 17th.  As I promised, the stash has grown and that mailing bag is FULL...so if you haven't entered, you've got just a few more days...but not on this post.  Be sure to go to the link and follow the directions.

Thanks for popping in on this LATE Wednesday.

Have you seen the GORGEOUS new May Arts Burlap and Organic Cotton Ribbons?   I absolutely love them.

Here's a peek at what I did with them...You can see the full tutorial on the MA Blog.

I'm linking this up at the Pretty Packages Party #13 (lucky, huh?) on The Blackberry Vine.  Don't you love that name?  She's got my favorite summer activity (picking blackberries) and a favorite Scripture all in one deliciously crafty place.

Teapot Tuesday - Queen of Hearts

This week's Teapot Tuesday  (MMTPT188) destination is Wisconsin and Rita.

Rita sends 30 cards a month to the elderly and sick in her community. She sends cards twice a year to the 110 residents of the nursing home where her mom was for 8 years. She is constantly searching to find charities that she can make and donate cards to. She found Cards for a Cause and participates every month sending multiple cards each and every month. She has recently added sending cards to the military in Afghanistan to her plate, and she makes 25 cards every month to her daughter's rehab unit. She makes wonderful, simple cards with no extra embellishments because everything she does MUST go in the mail and extra postage is not an option. She stamps two hours a day to keep up with her goal of doing all she can to support others with card donations!

In appreciation, we're returning the blessing.  Rita loves to play bridge so our challenge is to send her cards made with cards!

Supplies:
Card size - A2
Paper - Papertrey; SU Riding Hood Red
Sentiment - computer generated
Other- playing card; Stampin Up embossing folder; PTI banner die; BBP bling

Lucky to have a friend like you....

Sorry, I've been awol the past few days.  I came down with a bug that just zapped my energy.  Starting to feel a bit better today...

Some of the SNS (Sparkle N Sprinkle) DT members created some darlin' St. Patrick's Day cards in honor of owner, Margaret.  I didn't have any SNS St. Patty's images so I used what I had!  This darling image (Becca with Tulips) is from SNS Daddy's Little Princess Set.   I dressed her all in green and popped her on a 4 leaf clover shaped card from The Cutting Cafe

I sparkled her up with SNS Shamrock Glitter...right down to her shoes!

BTW...Don't forget about my blog candy drawing for followers...I've been busy adding goodies, including more ribbon, window dies from the Poppy Stamp die, paper and more.   I love surprises....so will the  lucky winner on St. Patrick's Day

Supplies:
Stamps - SNS Becca with Tulips (3318-413)
Ink - Memento; Copics, SU marker

Teapot Tuesday - Royal Cats

This week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge Destination  (MMTPT188) is a special one.  The web manager of SplitcoastStampers, aka Lydia, aka Understandblue, you know her if you hang out on SCS on the SCS Facebook page, because she's the one who keeps everything in the proper place and who posts the cool cards she finds on the FB page.

Anyway, Lydia's mom, Virginia, has broken her femur right under the hip bone....OUCH!  The surgery required screws, plates and other uncomfortable sounding things and the recovery is going to be a bear.  Lydia's mom needs some serious cheering up!  She loves cats and books.

Our challenge is to bring Virginia some cats (or some books, or both!) but not just any cats, they have to be royal cats!  No riff, raff, we have to have cats with crowns.

Here's my card for Virginia.  I used the sketch from Card Patterns, CPS155 .

I love this Cat Set (597) from Rubbernecker!  It's got some of the funniest sentiments and cat poses.  This one says, "Women and Cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used the idea."...hee,hee!  I hope it brings Virginia a smile.

Supplies:
Paper - DCWV Glamor Girl , Bazzill Basics, (don't know who made the silver, sorry)
Ink - Versafine
Other - BBP gems, May Arts Velvet string, Jolee's stickers, paper piercer

Clean and Simple Monday - Monograms

This week's CAS (Clean and Simple) Challenge (CAS160) on SCS is Monograms.  While you're there, be sure to welcome the new Spring Design Members, Angela, Mary and Tilly.

I had this ivory scrap on my desk after cutting out multiple banner sentiment dies.  I like to cut a bunch to save time whenever I have it out.  I'm always left with this scrap so thought I'd use it.

I added a monogram from an old Anna Griffin set I have and a few green blings in honor of the month of March.

Supplies:
Paper - PTI; Neenah cream
Stamps - All Night Media Anna Griffin
Ink - Versafine; Copic marker
Other - PTI banner die (accidently!); bling
